Copenhagen Fashion Week – chiiiiillllllyyyyyy

So the Siberian freeze came and out came the furs, parkas, sorels boots, and red frosty cheeks in Copenhagen. The Gallery Fair was quiet

when I visited on the Saturday and most brands felt a little bit deflated at that point, but still very optimistic and happy about the overall turnout since the opening on Wednesday!

Fantastic collections around and obviously amazing that all of our brands had prime locations and busy stands and fantastic show reviews (Malene Birger had brilliant write-ups about the Classy collection, chandeliers, side tables, champagne & The Godfather sound track : )

I felt that the Gallery fair is going from strength to strength – high quality venue, fantastic branding but most importantly a high percentage of quality brands!  Still a little too heavy on the Danish brands I feel (of course) but it will be nice to see more international brands showing there at some point…

Being Danish I can’t help finding the whole ‘we are so cool and unique’ attitude hilarious as its such a look in itself, to look Scandi – some of my favorite ‘I’m so unique but not’ looks are : no make-up except from eight hour cream on the lips, tossed hair but super groomed, short nails chipped polish, skinny jeans, over sized shirt or cardigan – unisex with a twist really…
I am of course proud to be Danish and I will always admire my sister and friends for looking amazing in harem trousers, and everything over-sized : )

Another funny observation I discussed with a client today is the Uber groomed and confident Danish men!! Why are they playing so hard to get? When I was living in Copenhagen it was definitely reversed roles as girls would pick up guys due to that very strange change in gender behavior – its almost as if most Danish guys can’t really figure out how to handle all these gorgeous Copenhagen Glamazons! Hilarious….or maybe they just weren’t that into me : )

Happy Friday everyone!

Xxx Christina
